Our Geotechnical Team in Ontario is expanding and we are now looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This position is located in Vaughan, Ontario but we would consider applicants in the greater Toronto area as well that have good geotechnical skills from projects such as transportation, highways, rail, municipal roads and bridges.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with good technical and engineering skills and a professional engineering designation - (P.Eng) to work on exciting projects where they can make their mark and move their career forward. Your role within the team:

  • Work closely with a variety of AtkinsRéalis professionals in multiple sectors such as transportation, rail & transit, energy, cities and developments as well as industrial.
  • Participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects and will be expected to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects of all scales.
  • Execute major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference.
  • Develop and expand our infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have 4+ years of holding P.Eng. License and practicing in Ontario, and over 8+ year with strong Geotechnical Engineering experience
  • A strong academic background with a relevant university degree.
  • Proven experience in highways, rail, municipal roads and bridges.
  • Experience with the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario is a strong asset.
  • Proven experience of acting in a senior role in an engineering consultancy environment.
  • Project management - experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
  • Proven geotechnical design experience.
  • Application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
  • Proven geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience.
  • Experienced in general geotechnical numerical software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
  • A willingness to travel on short assignments both within Ontario and nationwide.
