Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Geotechnical Drilling preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Familiarity with DOT and IFTA regulations.

Job description

This position is based out of our Hockely Office. This role prioritizes site-based projects and candidate must have the ability for travel to various job sites when needed.

Summary of Position :

The Geotechnical Driller will lead the mobilization / demobilization of the drill rig and / or cone trucks as directed. Provide drilling services for geotechnical drilling projects. Perform routine and standard drilling techniques in obtaining soil samples. This position is responsible for managing project teams to successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents and coordination of project requirements and provide further support for business development.

Accountabilities :

  • Assist in the mobilization of drilling rigs and / or cone trucks for jobs as directed. Load drill pipe, mud, and equipment.
  • Lead the drilling operations of the rig by handling drill pipe, mixing drill mud, and handling casing and other equipment.
  • Complete all field activities, including but not limited to, drilling, rock coring and sampling of geotechnical test borings, and installation of wells, plugging and abandoning of wells, and drilling of soil borings.
  • Keeps records of drilling footage, consumables, and other items about drilling operations.
  • Working knowledge of Simco, Ardco and CME and other drilling equipment.
  • Physically complete labor-intensiveprojects assigned by the Project Coordinator / Project Manager.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and field operations.
  • Monitor the performance of all equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area as directed.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, safety paperwork, and vehicle & equipment inspections.
  • Attend all safety meetings and comply with both company and client safety standards and programs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment, including equipment and job site areas.
  • Turn in all required paperwork to office on a daily basis.
  • Ability to lead a crew and mentor other team members
  • Support in business development
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities by Company safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications :

  • Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Geotechnical Drilling : 3 years or more (Preferred).
  • Sufficient knowledge of geotechnical drilling techniques to be responsible for an entire project
  • Be available for drilling projects that require both in-state and out-of-state travel and overnight visits
  • CDL A License
  • Geotechnical Drilling Experience - Soils Augers, Wet Rotary and Wireline Coring
  • Familiar with and following DOT and IFTA regulations.
  • Must have current driver’s license with record in accordance with Company and DOT policies, class A license is highly preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of drilling required, preferably within the geotechnical and / or geological field of operations.
  • TWIC card.
  • ISTC Basic Plus.
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification.
  • Must be mechanically inclined
