Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Geotechnical or Structural co-op student for our Hydropower & Dams Group in Saskatoon, starting January 2027. You will support local and national projects, gaining experience on site and in office while collaborating with diverse teams.

You will develop analyses (slope stability, seepage) and assist in structural calculations, report writing, and client proposals. Applicants must provide transcripts.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Geotechnical or Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Providing engineering support for Hydropower & Dams projects in pre-feasibility through to detailed engineering, dam safety and operational support.
  • Assist in developing and completing analyses (slope stability, seepage) and quantity estimates.
  • Supporting various field assignments including geotechnical investigations, data processing, and report writing.
  • Assist in completing structural analysis and design calculations for concrete and structural steel.
  • Supporting the production of reports, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Supporting senior staff in business development and marketing to existing and new Hatch clients in the hydropower sector, preparation of expressions of interest and proposals.

Position Summary:

Hatch is seeking a Geotechnical or Structural co-op student in our Hydropower & Dams Group for a position starting in January 2027. Reporting to the Saskatchewan Hydropower & Dams Regional Manager, you will support local and national projects working from our Saskatoon Office.

Compensation:

Range: $26.00 - $33.00

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
