Job Duties

We are looking to recruit an experienced geostatistician who will bring their expertise to the cutting-edge science behind one of our fastest-rising cloud applications. This role involves applying complex geostatistical algorithms within a cloud infrastructure.

• Create and maintain innovative, complex geostatistical algorithms in a cloud environment.
• Optimize existing algorithms for accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate with microservices to implement algorithms in Java and utilize Restful APIs.
• Demonstrate strong technical communication skills.
• Ensure high quality through adherence to coding best practices.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in geostatistics and software development.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics, or Reservoir Engineering.
• Solid foundation in spatial statistics, variograms, and simulation techniques.
• Proficiency with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Experience coding geostatistical algorithms in Java.
• Experience with microservices, Restful APIs, Docker, and cloud technologies.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Leadership experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary, multicultural teams in different time zones.
• Knowledge of AI technologies/tools.
• Understanding of modern cloud and microservices architectures.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies (Python, TensorFlow, etc.).
• Oil and Gas domain experience is preferred.

Candidates with qualifications exceeding the minimum may be considered for higher-level roles based on experience, additional requirements, and business needs. Opportunities may include Senior Geostatistician/Developer roles.
