Qualifications

About the Opportunity

Our Edmonton office is looking to add an eager Geomatics Technologist to our team of professional land surveyors, planners, engineers, and other specialists who serve clients and communities across Alberta.

Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, do you see yourself excited to contribute to:

  • Supporting field survey and field review activities across a variety of projects.
  • Travelling to field sites across Northern Alberta as needed to support project work.
  • Processing and analyzing survey data to support engineering design and documentation.
  • Preparing layout data and performing volume calculations for design and construction planning.
  • Processing and extracting data using Leica Infinity for use in plan and design preparation.
  • Drafting survey plans and other documents for both internal and external clients.
  • Developing base and surface drawings for Drafting and Production Team and other technical applications.
  • Drafting topographic surveys, plot plans, Real Property Reports (RPRs), and area certifications.
  • Creating engineering as-built drawings and reviewing design drawing quality.
  • Assisting in preliminary design tasks and collaborating with project teams on technical solutions.

About You

Our ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in a survey or geomatics environment and is a graduate from a Geomatics Engineering Technology diploma program, or an equivalent diploma or degree program.

The core skills that will help you succeed here include:

  • You have a solid understanding of survey practices and procedures.
  • You are familiar with reading and interpreting construction drawings for survey layout.
  • You are a self-starter who can work independently and communicate and collaborate effectively with others.
  • You enjoy building and maintaining relationships with people of varying backgrounds and perspectives.
  • You take pride in producing high-quality work and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • You are organized and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Leica software, and other software programs is considered an asset.
