McElhanney Ltd. in Western Canada invites Geomatics graduates to join their team for hands-on field and office experience on real Northern BC projects.

• Maintain, monitor, and report on the condition of survey equipment and vehicles.
• Work across field and office environments, including urban sites and remote locations.
• Gain hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning and reality capture tools.
• Participate in safety practices and Think Safe, Work Safe, Get Home Safe.
• Expect early starts, active days, and plenty of time outdoors.

This opportunity is intended for candidates who are available to start in May/summer 2027, or after graduation. To be successful in this role, you must be able to confirm all the following:

• You currently live in or can relocate to Fort St John.
• You hold a valid Class 5 driver’s License.
• You enjoy and are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• You can travel and work away from home for extended periods (up to 3 weeks).

What You’ll Do

• Support field surveys using GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, and Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).
• Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare files, plans, maps, field notes and survey data for project delivery.
• Research plans, titles, records, and other geospatial information.
• Maintain, monitor, and report on the condition of survey equipment and vehicles.
• Work across both field and office environments, including urban sites, remote locations, and wilderness settings.
• Gain hands‑on experience with advanced geomatics technologies, including 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping systems, reality capture tools, and other emerging advanced geomatics solutions that are transforming the industry.
• Participate in McElhanney’s industry‑leading safety practices, ensuring teams Think Safe, Work Safe, and Get Home Safe.
• Expect early starts, active days, and plenty of time outdoors.

What Can We Offer You?

The wage range for this position is $56,000 – $77,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
