Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited in Calgary, AB is seeking a Geology Student to join the Abandonment team for an 8‑month term starting January 2027. You will assist with geological data analysis, well records reviews, and support planning and optimization of abandonment activities.

The role offers hands‑on exposure to WellView, Accumap and Tableau, a collaborative, safety‑conscious environment, and relocation assistance as applicable.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a geological degree program.
• Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license.
• Motivated, collaborative, organized, and able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support an operational team through geological log and data analysis, geological interpretation, and well data analysis for optimization of projects, well records reviews, lookback reviews and ongoing operations and engineering support.
• Acquire hands-on experience with several widely used industry software programs including WellView, Accumap and Tableau.
• Gain exposure to all aspects of well operations including drilling, completions, well servicing and well abandonment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Geology Student to join our fast-paced Abandonment team! You will have the exciting opportunity to be part of an active engineering and geology team responsible for the planning, execution and optimization of operations related to well abandonment activities. • Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
• Work schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours per day (Monday – Friday)
• Term length: 8 months
• Term starts: January 2027
• Safety sensitive position: Yes
