FIELD TECHNICIAN( 12 Month Fixed Term Contract )

TheGeologyField Technician (Mine Exploration) assists with and performs field/core shack related activities pertaining to the safe and efficient execution of an Exploration Drill campaign.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1:

Assist and provide support to the Côté Gold geological team.

• Receive, organize, and prepare drill core boxes for logging.
• Measure, align, photograph and catalog core samples.
• Assist Geologists and Geologists in Training (GIT) to record lithology, mineralization, alteration, and structural features in AcQuire logging software
• Label and tag core boxes accurately with depth intervals and identifiers.
• Perform Rock Quality Designation (RQD) and density measurements.
• Conduct geotechnical and geophysical measurements (e.g., magnetic susceptibility, conductivity).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the core shack and storage areas.
• Follow strict health, safety, and environmental protocols at all times.
• Assist with sample preparation and submission to assay labs.
• Enter and manage data in geological databases
• Assist with diamond drill safety inspections
• Layout and pick up drill collars with GPS
• Coordinate drill pad access and layouts in the field with drilling contractors
• Assist with other production geology tasks within open pit setting as required

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Registration in a geology / geological engineering program at university or college is considered an asset.

Work experience - Nature & Length

• A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is an asset
• Previous experience in mineral exploration is considered an asset.
• Ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions, such as cold, snow, rain, heat, etc.
• Ability to operate a telehandler.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg (44lbs)
• Basic computer skills.
• Good observational and analytical skills.
• Good written and oral communication.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Standard First and CPR certification is considered an asset.
• Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset
