Job Description:The successful candidate will assist in operating the Clinical Genetics Service, providing diagnosis and counseling in prenatal, cancer, pediatric, and adult genetics for patients affected by or at risk of genetic disorders.
Responsibilities:- Genetic assessment, counseling, and support to patients
- Providing genetic counseling for cancer genetics and OBSP High Risk program
- Interpreting and implementing organizational and departmental policies
- Participating in department meetings and rounds
- Engaging in education and teaching rounds for the public, medical students, healthcare providers, and staff
Qualifications:- Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling required
- Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC) certification or eligibility
- 2-3 years of clinical experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop effective working relationships
- Familiarity with electronic genetic databases and resources
- Ability to perform essential duties
- Satisfactory attendance and performance
