Location: Vancouver Clinic; Remote
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week
Overview
Reporting to the Director of Clinic Operations, the Genetic Counsellor is pivotal to the organization – this role focuses on in-house counselling and coordination of genetic testing for our patients. Your courteous and professional approach to patient centred care is vital for our patients to have during their treatment at Olive.
Key Areas of Involvement
- Reviewing Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A) results with patients.
- Updating genetic result databases, including outcomes for mosaic embryo transfers.
- Being a resource for patient and staff inquiries related to genetic testing and family histories.
- Providing pre and post-test genetic counselling for patients having any genetic testing done through the Olive Fertility Centre (the Company) as needed. This may include PGT-A, PGT-M, carrier screening and other tests as they become available.
- Providing clinical supervision to genetic counseling students and medical students during their rotations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling.
- Board Certified or Board eligible from the Canadian and/or American Genetic Counselling Board.
- Previous experience with fertility patients is an asset.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication (both written and verbal), organization, analytical skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic independently as well as in a team setting.
- Great attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Understanding of how to adapt genetic counseling skills for varied patient situations.
- Ability to apply genetic counseling skills in a culturally responsive and respectful manner to all clients.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $41.26 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Licence/Certification
