Overview

Position Description: Extensive hands-on development experience in Generative AI projects. This is not an entry-level position, but if you have strong hands-on GenAI projects, please apply. This role is flexible within proximity to a CGI office in Toronto to accommodate a hybrid work model.

The Emerging Technologies team in Global Technology and Operations (GTO) Canada at CGI is a trusted Data, Cloud and AI advisor and go-to implementation partner for our global clients' Data and Advanced Analytics needs. We're an entrepreneurial team on a continuous mission to position CGI as the best-in-class AI partner and develop new and exciting opportunities in latest technologies. Our capabilities in Generative AI are evolving with a current focus on GenAI agents and mitigating risks associated with GenAI.

What you will do

As a Data Scientist - Generative AI on this team your responsibilities will include:

• Building GenAI base solutions for CGI and for clients, including Agentic frameworks
• Evaluating quality of output of GenAI solutions, fine-tuning, and productionizing AI solutions
• Building Large Language Models-based and NLP-based solutions for CGI clients by researching best-in-class techniques and being a self-starter
• Data Engineer and Prompt Engineer the LLM solutions end-to-end to enhance end user experience
• Hands-on building, tuning, deploying and monitoring (MLOps) robust Machine Learning solutions built on RAG and latest techniques
• Fine-tune LLMs with cost-optimized PEFT techniques like LoRA, QLoRA
• Mitigate risks and optimize costs associated with GenAI architecture choices and advise clients on best practices in GenAI
• Collaborate strategically with the innovation team, client stakeholders and account teams to explore key GenAI solutions
• Collaborate with other Data Scientists and Data Engineers in client engagements
• Implement proof of concepts to show value and then package and scale to full ML solutions at scale on both on-prem and cloud environments

This role comes with sometimes intense delivery expectations, producing POVs for clients in a short period of time and then implementing a full-scale production solution ensuring right user experience and adoption.

Required qualifications

This role comes with sometimes intense delivery expectations, producing POVs for clients in a short period of time and then implementing a full-scale production solution ensuring right user experience and adoption.

• Minimum 5 years of stay or residency in Canada
• Hands-on experience implementing and productionizing Generative AI solutions with at least 2-5 different projects or at least 1 production deployment
• Prompt Engineering experience on tools such as Azure Promptflow, Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI Studio would be ideal
• Experience building LLM-based solutions on Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs with latest techniques
• Experience with multiple models including open source models deployment (LLaMa, Mistral, et al)
• Experience with multiple Vector Databases
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience delivering diverse Advanced Analytics solutions

Additional desired qualifications

• Experience with MSFT 365 Copilot, Copilot plugins and connectors, Copilot Studio
• Experience with agentic frameworks like Crew AI, Autogen etc.
