As an Environmental Generalist, you will report to the Environmental Specialist. You will play a key role in ensuring strategic planning, effective communication, and proactive engagement with all levels of management and various internal departments. This is a full-time, on-site position in Longueuil, working Monday to Friday with flexible hours.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Support the Environmental Specialist: Aid with legal and corporate tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Attend Various Meetings: Participate in meetings and ensure follow-ups on assigned actions.
  • Conduct Field Follow-ups: Perform on-site assessments to ensure environmental compliance and support operational teams.
  • Participate in Investigations: Contribute to environmental investigations to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering teams to integrate environmental requirements into technical projects.
  • Supervise Interns: Provide mentorship, share your expertise, and contribute to their professional development.
  • Develop and Implement Environmental Projects: Propose and execute initiatives to enhance the company's environmental performance.
  • Compliance and Implementation: Review, update, and implement environmental procedures, reports, and training programs to ensure compliance with local site requirements, RTX and PWC policies, and federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Inspection and Evaluation: Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments of facility activities to ensure adherence to best environmental practices.
  • Collaboration and Initiatives: Work closely with internal teams to drive both local and global environmental initiatives, while analyzing and evaluating trends.
  • Training: Develop, update, and manage internal environmental training content, and coordinate external training sessions.
  • ESS Management Systems: Effectively understand and use Environmental, Health, and Safety (ESS) management systems.
  • Standardization: Collaborate with the Central ESS team to ensure standardization of procedures and processes across the company.
  • Risk Management: Partner with supervisors, managers, and senior directors to identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks.
  • Safety: Maintain a solid understanding of company safety programs, including industrial motor vehicles, lifting and rigging, confined spaces, working at heights, machine guarding, electrical safety, inspections, and incident management.

What do you need to be successful?

  • B.Sc. in Environment, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, OneNote, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work across different shifts and provide on-site support to office and workshop employees.

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand documentation and technical terms from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
