Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto, ON, is seeking a General X-Ray Technologist to join the Medical Imaging team. The role covers general radiography, OR, portable radiology, and fluoroscopy, with responsibility for patient prep and radiology reporting via PACS.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered and in good standing with CMRITO; CAMRT is preferred.
  • Past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team within Medical Imaging.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record.
  • Willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department as needed.
  • Understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion in healthcare practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all x-ray exams per departmental protocols.
  • Includes general x-ray, OR, portable radiology, fluoroscopy and minor procedures.
  • Operate DR/CR rooms, mobile x-ray, C-arm fluoroscopy and multi‑purpose rooms.
  • Prepare and assess patients, obtain consent, confirm exam validity, and coordinate with radiologists.
  • Complete exam process with image review and documentation; report via film and/or PACS.
  • Follow radiation safety practices to protect patients and staff.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a General X-Ray Technologist to join our Medical Imaging team.

Employment Status: Permanent Full Time

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Medical Imaging

Hours of work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management Rights

Hourly rate range: $36.84 - $50.24

Location: Humber River Health - Wilson Site

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all x-ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.
  • Includes general x-ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment including general x-ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x-ray, c-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
  • Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures including obtaining consent and confirming exam validity, resourcing radiologists as is necessary and sterile technique practices.
  • Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.
  • Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose.

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). CAMRT is preferred.
  • Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team internally and externally to the Medical Imaging Department.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
  • Must be willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department when necessary.
