Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto’s Wilson Site seeks a General X-Ray Technologist to join the Medical Imaging team. You will perform x-ray exams across departments, ensuring quality and safety.

The role requires CMRITO registration, the ability to work independently or in a team, and a willingness to cross-train. Shifts include rotating days, evenings, nights and weekends; salary ranges are provided; benefits and an inclusive workplace are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with CMRITO and in good standing; CAMRT is preferred.
• Experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in Medical Imaging.
• Excellent attendance and a discipline-free record.
• Willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform all x-ray exams per departmental protocols.
• Include general x-ray, OR, portable, fluoroscopy and minor procedures.
• Operate DR/CR x-ray rooms, mobile x-ray, C-arm fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
• Prepare and assess patients, obtain consent and confirm exam validity.
• Document exams and present to radiologists via film and/or PACS.
• Follow radiation safety practices to protect patients and staff.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a General X-Ray Technologist to join our Medical Imaging team.

Hours of work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management Rights

Hourly rate range: $36.84 - $50.24
Location: Humber River Health - Wilson Site
Responsibilities

• Perform all x-ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.
• Includes general x-ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures
• Ability to operate all types of equipment including general x-ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x-ray, c-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
• Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures including obtaining consent and confirming exam validity, resourcing radiologists as is necessary and sterile technique practices.
• Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.
• Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose.

Qualifications

• Must be registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). CAMRT is preferred.
• Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
• Ability to work independently or part of a team internally and externally to the Medical Imaging Department.
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
• Must be willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department when necessary.
