Recruiting: Full-Time General Surgeon
If you’re a General Surgeon with an independent licence to practice in Ontario (or are US Board Certified), we are a perfect match—because that’s exactly what we’re looking for! We would be eager to discuss your particular interests and sub-specialties with you as well.
Where on Earth is CKHA?
Located at the southern tip of Ontario (but only 3 hours from Toronto and 1 hour to Detroit), Chatham isn’t called the banana belt of Canada for nothing. In 2021, Chatham-Kent was ranked #27 on Maclean's list of Best Communities in Canada, and we were featured in the top 10 of U-Haul's Top 25 Growth Cities in Canada list the last three years running.
Resources and Earning Potential:
The resources we are offering are generous, and you will get 1 OR day per week, 1 day of Endoscopy per week, and 1 day of Ambulatory Care clinic per week in hospital.
Call will be 1 in 5 (ACS Week Model) and each day earns a fixed HOCC stipend of $487.94, paid directly to you. Hospital call can be taken from home, provided you can get here within 20 minutes. Call is shared equally among the group, to make sure you can maintain a work-life balance.
All of our surgeons are invited to become an Adjunct Professor with Western University and teach the next generation of medical students and residents your craft. Feel free to provide surgical assist services anytime that you are available as well.
Generous financial recruitment incentives are currently offered for full-time recruits. Relocation and spousal employment assistance will gladly be provided as well. From finding housing, childcare or even a soccer league for your kids, you won’t be alone.
Plus, the cost of living here is lower than most areas, so you get to keep more of what you earn. Be wowed by comparing your housing budget on the REALTOR website to see what you can get in Chatham vs other cities.
