Role and Facility Information

We have an excellent opportunity for a 3rd general surgeon to join our team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital. If you are passionate about your work and are looking for a broad surgical practice in a collegial supportive group and welcoming community setting where you can enjoy endless lifestyle opportunities. Additionally, this position offers a teaching component with locally placed UBC students and residents. We are excited to add new graduates or experienced general surgeons to our team in Williams Lake. Cariboo Memorial Hospital is a 31-bed hospital offering emergency, an intensive care unit, operating rooms, medical-surgical and obstetrical units, and ambulatory care services. Other services at the hospital include stress testing, lab and diagnostic imaging (including echo and CT scanning), out-patient hemodialysis and a five-bed psychiatric crisis stabilization unit. There is 24-hour general surgery and obstetrical specialist coverage, full-time radiology, and a pediatric specialist. There are also visiting ophthalmology, rheumatology and psychiatry specialists. Williams Lake is located in the heart of the Cariboo Chilcotin. As the largest and fastest growing city in the area; it serves as a business, industrial and service hub for outlying communities. Compensation

• Annual retention fee: $14,182.08
• CME funding: to a max of $6,600 after 4 years Rural Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer. Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for BC or Canada loan forgiveness programs for those living and working in rural community.
