You will be responsible for performing all aspects of leading the transactional Buying team for the organization as it relates to inventory, non-inventory, and service purchasing. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Ensure “best in class” P2P processes are being performed by the team
- Ensure team is complying with applicable First Nation Agreements
- Ensure End Users are happy with service of Buying team
- Drive improvement in Supplier performance as it relates to meeting end user expectation of on time deliveries
- Ensure End Users get the product they need when they need it, at the right quality and at the lowest possible cost
- Minimize Supplier Costs for in/off contract purchases
- Key escalation points for all issues regarding operational buying
- Ensure KPI targets are met
- Meet regularly with key personnel both internally and within our supply base to review KPI results and determine corrective action plans
- Meet regularly with End Users and Mine management to ensure their requirements are being met and any issues are proactively dealt with and quickly resolved
- Respond quickly to potentials issues with performance of organization
- Assist Sourcing team to identify areas of cost reduction / value creation opportunities and implement cost saving programs
- Ensure team is purchasing against established contracts
- Provide leadership to realize continuous improvement of supply chain processes
- Quickly resolve performance issues
- Meet strategic suppliers on a regular basis to discuss performance, opportunities, and risks (Quarterly supplier evaluation)
- Provide Buyers and Inventory Analysts with the necessary support to meet the priorities and objectives of the organization
- Perform administrative duties in the department as required such as vendor master approval and maintenance
- Lead or participate in department change management initiatives
- Ensure compliance to all related company controls
- Bachelor’s degree in one of this sector (business Administration, Finances, Accounting, Business Law, Diploma, or appropriate work experience
- A procurement certification (CSCP, CPP, CMA or CPSM) is an asset
- Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset
- Cultural awareness and understanding of working with Indigenous communities is an asset
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written)
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office or one of our satellite offices in Sudbury, Toronto or Kirkland Lake.
- 40% Travel to Mine Sites or Agnico offices as required.
