About The Role

Location: ALS Environmental - Calgary, AB

About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for the shipping and receiving of sampling and laboratory supplies with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Bottle order preparation;
  • Bottle and Preservative preparation;
  • Packaging and shipping of bottles and samples using appropriate couriers and procedures;
  • Completion of required shipping paperwork and communication with couriers;
  • Customer service especially working with clients and couriers;
  • Maintain a clean work area;
  • General assistance as required;
  • May serve as driver for sample pick-up and deliveries as required;
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate level computer skills – Microsoft Office;
  • English skills – good command of written and verbal;
  • Very organized with proven ability to work to deadlines;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduation required with some chemistry preferred;
  • Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving history an asset;
  • Some lab experience would be an asset;
  • Full training will be provided.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50lbs for short distances;
  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
  • Ability to stand for up to a full shift;
  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
  • Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
