Summary


The General Repair Technician III is responsible for performing maintenance and repair, routine and on-demand services on non-technical facility components (such as walls, floors, etc.). The Technician must perform work according to established processes and practices, complying with environmental, health and safety, and fire protection requirements.


At this level, the technician:

  • Maintains and repairs non-technical facility components.
  • Shows interest in enrolling or completing a trades certification or license, or may already be enrolled.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs work following established processes and practices.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards.
  • Conducts regular monitoring and inspection of facilities and non-technical components.
  • Observes and reports on facility conditions, deficiencies, and suggests improvements.
  • Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on non-technical components.
  • Documents work and resolution details in the maintenance management system, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Tracks and reports the status of maintenance work, and seeks approval for necessary repairs.
  • Supports the implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Participates in facility-related projects.
  • Ensures all work complies with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.
  • Maintains tools and arranges for repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Submits expenditures promptly.
  • Enhances tenant and customer satisfaction through quality service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment.

Minimum Education: High school diploma

Job-Related Experience: 1-3 years

Knowledge and Skills

  • 1-3 years of facility operations and maintenance experience.
  • Trade-related training is an asset.
  • Ability to follow processes and perform maintenance on non-technical components.
  • Strong observational skills and ability to suggest improvements.
  • Willingness to learn and apply building codes and safety standards.
  • Strong safety mindset.
  • Customer service orientation and sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills.

Licenses and Professional Accreditation

  • Interest in obtaining a trades certification or license.
  • Some roles may require a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
