General Practitioner in Radiation Oncology – BC Cancer, Victoria

BC Cancer – Victoria is seeking a General Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary Radiation Oncology team.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of specialized radiation oncologists and allied health professionals and participate exclusively in the care of oncology patients.
• Participate in the ambulatory care treatment and follow-up of patients.
• Support in‑patient care of patients receiving treatment.

Compensation & Contract

The funding for this position is set at a maximum of 1.0 FTE. The opportunity is flexible and could be offered to more than one candidate who is interested in working part‑time on a permanent basis. Service contract and salary options are available.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP).
• Eligibility for appointment to medical staff of BC Cancer and Royal Jubilee Hospital.
• Eligibility for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
• In‑patient and oncology experience is an asset but is not required.
• No previous experience in radiation oncology is required; BC Cancer will support your training, involving both didactic virtual teaching and in‑clinic patient‑related instruction.
• Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
• Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety, anti‑racism, and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
