BC Cancer is seeking a General Practitioner in Oncology for its Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Program. Located in Vancouver, this full-time position involves caring for patients with aggressive hematological malignancies and working with both clinical teams and trainees. The GPO will support senior hematologists in caring for leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients by providing ongoing care. The candidate will collaborate with leukemia/bone marrow transplant fellows-in-training, clinical associates, and internists. Experience in the specialty is desirable but not mandatory.
The Leukemia/BMT Program is an academic program for managing aggressive hematological malignancies and stem cell transplants, based at Vancouver General Hospital. It services British Columbia and Yukon, transplants approximately 300 patients annually, and is the only provincial referral center for adult acute leukemia. The program is a joint operation between BC Cancer and Vancouver Coastal Health.
Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a family practitioner in BC, hold Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS, or CCFP), and be suitable for appointment at the University of British Columbia.
