Join one of the world's renowned cancer organizations. BC Cancer is looking for a General Practitioner in Oncology to join its team in beautiful Victoria. This site offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, and support services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials, and Patient and Family Counseling. BC Cancer – Victoria also partners with a network of community centres such as Nanaimo, BC, so that patients can continue to receive systemic therapy in their local communities.
The successful applicant will:
- Work with a team of specialized medical oncologists and allied health professionals and participate exclusively in the care of Oncology patients.
- Participate in the treatment and follow-up of patients, after curative and palliative treatment planning.
- Engage in clinical trials, as the opportunities arise.
What you bring
- Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP)
- Eligibility for appointment to medical staff of BC Cancer, and Royal Jubilee Hospital.
- Eligibility for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
- In-patient and oncology experience is an asset but is not required. No previous experience in medical oncology is required; BC Cancer will support your training, involving both didactic virtual teaching and in-clinic patient-related instruction.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
