General Practice Physician Assistant / Associate Job with Defense Health Agency Medical Civilian Corps in Newport, IN

As a Physician Assistant, you will:

  1. Perform medical screening examinations to determine the need for laboratory tests, X-rays, and other procedures.
  2. Prescribe and treat a variety of diseases, disorders, and injuries.
  3. Perform medical histories and dictate narrative summaries.
  4. Write routine orders in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  5. Define unknown conditions and resolve critical problems.
  6. Evaluate primary care aspects of patient care, recognizing the need for reassessment by a physician or other staff.
  7. Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their families regarding treatment and medical care.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment include background checks, security investigations, immunizations, and certifications such as BLS. Selectees must also consent to drug testing and flu vaccinations unless exempted.
