What Will You Do

The General Manager of Springbank Airport oversees daily operations, aligns with business plans, and leads the team. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering community relations, managing budgets, and overseeing airport operations, serving as a reliever for Calgary International Airport.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee team at Springbank, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Manage team activities, performance, and foster professional growth.
  • Ensure safe, cost-effective, and environmentally sound development and operation of the airport, aligning with corporate values and strategies.
  • Operate in accordance with the Airport Operations Manual and Transport Canada regulations.
  • Liaise with leasing and development departments regarding leases, development guidelines, and permits.
  • Maintain relationships with community, tenants, and stakeholders such as Transport Canada, NAV Canada, and SABPA.
  • Represent the Authority at public hearings, chair committees, and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain long-term budgets ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
  • Lead operations and light maintenance of airfield equipment and utility systems.
  • Respond to emergencies and snow events on a 24/7 basis.
What Do You Need To Bring
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC.
  • Post-secondary education in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12 years of experience in airfield or field operations.
  • At least 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven success in business planning, operations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Understanding of aviation regulations and compliance.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
  • Financial and budget management expertise.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Flexible work schedule for on-call issues.
Optional Assets
  • Bilingual in English or French.
