Job description

SMARDT is the world's largest manufacturer of oil-free centrifugal chillers, with operations in Singapore, Australia, Canada, USA, Germany, and China. SMARDT's high-efficiency machines are driving growth across key markets, emphasizing innovation and energy savings.

The General Manager of Kiltech and Energy Management Optimization Consultancy has overall responsibility for SMARDT's Kiltech division globally. This role involves establishing and managing energy management consultancy offerings, including operational controls, chiller and plant optimization, and energy management systems. The GM will implement strategies aligned with operational goals, exceed customer expectations, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, managing teams and providing leadership to maximize efficiency and operational excellence. Collaboration with Smardt Chiller controls and TICA’s FUCA division is essential to ensure alignment and optimization of products and operations.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Development :

  • Develop and launch a turnkey Energy Management Consultancy (EMC) under Kiltech.
  • Transition the business from product-based to energy solutions-focused.
  • Specialize in chilled water, refrigeration, heating systems, and compressed air.
  • Deliver energy efficiency and management consulting and training.
  • Evaluate business challenges, mitigate risks, and develop opportunities.
  • Contribute to business strategy and budgeting.
  • Participate in developing Kiltech's five-year growth strategy within SMARDT.
  • Enhance PMI contract relationships.
  • Expand outcome-based offerings, including technical, financial, and ESG solutions.
  • Leverage CPECS software, cloud integration, and modeling tools.
  • Develop Energy as a Service (EaaS) models, owning and operating assets for hot water, chilled water, or compressed air, with appropriate commercial structures.
  • Incorporate emerging technologies like ORC and geothermal.

General and Task Management :

  • Foster a customer-focused operational culture.
  • Support project management and cross-functional activities.
  • Set and report on business targets and KPIs.

Human Resources Management :

  • Act as the main liaison between TICA's Board and Kiltech employees.
  • Build and restructure teams to support growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff to achieve high performance.
  • Work with HR on objectives and performance monitoring.
  • Manage financial performance, budgets, and compliance.

Relationship Management :

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Report activities and KPIs to senior management.
  • Negotiate and develop new business opportunities globally.

Qualifications / Skills
