Líl̓wat Business Group is advancing a portfolio of development projects, capital assets, income-producing properties, construction activities, and real estate partnerships. As General Manager, Land Development & Capital Assets, you will provide leadership across multiple entities and projects, helping ensure opportunities are effectively evaluated, resources are aligned with priorities, and initiatives are successfully delivered.

Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee business performance, project delivery, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth across development, construction, property management, and joint venture activities. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who can balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution while building the people, systems, and relationships needed to support sustainable growth and lasting value.

Summary of Duties:

The General Manager, Land Development & Capital Assets is responsible for providing leadership, direction, management, andsupport for the planning, development, construction, property management, andadministration activities of Líl̓wat Development Services, Lilwat Construction Enterprises, Lilwat Capital Assets, and associated joint venture activities.

The General Manager is accountable forbusiness performance, project outcomes, strategic direction, resourceallocation, and decision-making across development, construction, propertymanagement, and partnership activities. The role ensures opportunities areeffectively evaluated, priorities are established, resources are appropriatelyallocated, and projects are successfully delivered in support of organizationalobjectives.

The General Manager ensures appropriateworkforce, operational, financial, and management systems are in place tosupport sustainable growth and successful project delivery across all entities.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

  • Provides leadership to thedevelopment and operating affairs of Líl̓wat Development Services, Lílwat Construction Enterprises, Lílwat Capital Assets, andassociated joint venture activities.
  • Oversees development,construction, property management, and partnership activities.
  • Evaluates project opportunities,development initiatives, partnerships, bids, and investments.
  • Establishes business prioritiesand allocates resources to support organizational objectives.
  • Develops and maintainsrelationships with clients, contractors, consultants, regulators, fundingagencies, investors, and joint venture partners.
  • Leads negotiations related tocontracts, partnerships, and significant business opportunities.
  • Ensures effective coordinationbetween development, pre-construction, construction, property management,and partnership activities.
  • Develops, implements, and monitorsbudgets, business plans, and annual operating plans.
  • Oversees managers and evaluatesperformance, including the development and administration of employeedevelopment plans.
  • Ensures workforce, operational,financial, and management systems support organizational requirements.
  • Identifies and managesoperational, financial, contractual, strategic, and reputational risks.
  • Ensures compliance with applicablelegislation, corporate policies, permits, contracts, and health and safetyrequirements.
  • Completes regular reporting forthe Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
  • Assists in the development ofpolicies and programs (e.g., financial, operational, workforce, and healthand safety).
  • Performs other duties asrequested.

Experience and Attributes:

  • Ten (10) or more years ofexperience in construction, development, infrastructure, propertymanagement, or related industries.
  • Five (5) or more years of seniorleadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managingcomplex projects, partnerships, and business operations.
  • Strong financial, operational, andstrategic management skills.
  • Experience negotiating contractsand managing external relationships.
  • Construction and developmentexperience within a First Nations organization is an asset.
  • Commitment to leading anddeveloping personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-taskand adapt in a flexible and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills,attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbalcommunication skills.
  • Ability to work independently andas an integral member of various teams.
