Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations, drive business growth, and ensure high-quality service delivery across all departments. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of the travel industry, strong business acumen, and a cultural understanding of Chinese-speaking clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the agency’s overall business strategy, marketing plans, and growth objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand service offerings and customer base.
  • Operations Management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including customer service, sales, tour operations, supplier relations, and finance.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality and culturally appropriate travel services tailored to Chinese-speaking clients.
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage, train, and support a team of travel consultants, operations staff, and administrative personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-centric, and performance-driven workplace culture.
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Direct and evaluate promotional campaigns, including digital marketing targeting Chinese communities in Toronto and beyond.
  • Monitor performance metrics and customer satisfaction levels to refine product offerings and marketing strategies.
  • Financial Oversight
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Work with accountants and advisors on financial reporting, tax compliance, and trust account regulations (e.g., TICO).
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure agency complies with industry regulations including TICO and international travel laws.
  • Maintain proper licensing, bonding, and insurance coverage.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a travel agency or related tourism business.
  • Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese is required.
  • Strong understanding of the Chinese-Canadian travel market and cultural travel preferences.
  • Proven track record in staff leadership, financial management, and operational efficiency.
