Our client is a highly successful, leading global player in vertical market software (VMS). Their software assets are engineered to generate substantial traffic in a variety of highly sought after sectors. Their new initiatives require professionals who are ready to take the next step in their career growth. As such, we are currently seeking a General Manager – AI Business Unit.

Responsibilities

Being a highly motivated and dedicated professional, you will partake in a unique opportunity to shape and lead the growth of an AI Business Unit, catering to the client’s tens of thousands of existing customers. As General Manager, you will drive the strategy, and execution of a critical part of our business, ensuring they deliver world-class AI products and services to their customers. Each AI Business Unit operates like a small, agile start-up pod within their company, offering autonomy and support to succeed. You will play a central role in identifying AI opportunities and building the business that will deliver them to their customers.

Your key responsibilities include:

Business Leadership

  • Oversee the operations and strategy of an AI Business Unit focused on one of client’s vertical markets.
  • Develop and execute the unit's overall strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and driving growth of AI offerings within the vertical.

Operational Excellence

  • Build and optimize operational workflows, including customer onboarding, support, and internal processes to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure and improve performance across all functions.

Product Roadmap Development

  • Collaborate with technical team to develop a product roadmap that aligns with the vertical market's needs and priorities.
  • Ensure features are being developed and launched in line with customer requirements and market demands.
  • Continuously gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to refine the product roadmap and improve quality of the offerings.

Strategic Growth & Profitability

  • Manage the P&L for the AI Business Unit, driving profitability while balancing innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Expand the customer base within the vertical market and ensure strong product-market fit.
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across business, product, sales, and tech functions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.

Desired Profile

  • General experience in operations, product strategy, or customer-focused roles, preferably in B2B AI, SaaS or technology industries.
  • A strong track record of leadership and the ability to take ownership of diverse functional areas.
  • Proven ability to align product development with customer needs and oversee the execution of business and product roadmaps.
  • Financial acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • High potential to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Strategic thinker who can translate high-level goals into actionable plans within a specific vertical market.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for building high-performing, collaborative teams.
