Job description

We’re seeking a driven, forward-thinking General Manager to lead and grow a high-potential used car dealership with $2M+ in inventory and significant untapped volume. This is not a maintenance role—this is for a builder and operator ready to take the reins and scale a store with the backing of a well-established auto group (15+ years in business).

This store has its own finance portal, full support systems, and a clear path for expansion. You’ll have the autonomy to lead—and the group resources to win.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and lead a retail team from the ground up
  • Source, stage, and market inventory to maximize ROI and speed to market
  • Oversee desking, deal structuring, trade appraisals, and closing support
  • Guide the sales team through high-performance strategies and daily coaching
  • Partner with finance, reconditioning, and digital marketing teams
  • Manage KPIs, budget, and profitability with a hands-on, strategic approach
  • Represent and grow the dealership brand in the local community and online

You Bring

  • 5+ years of automotive leadership experience, ideally in high-volume or independent used car operations
  • Strong understanding of retail automotive operations: desking, appraisals, sourcing, reconditioning, and F&I workflows
  • Experience with online retail, inventory platforms, and CRM/DMS systems
  • A hands-on leadership style and the ability to build a team culture from scratch
  • Proven track record of growing sales volume and profitability
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, high energy, and relentless drive to win
