Job description

Our client is a growing manufacturer known for a commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. They operate an agile facility with a team dedicated to producing reliable, high-quality print products.

The General Manager will have operational responsibility for the facility, leading day-to-day production, safety, staffing, and continuous improvement efforts. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about building strong operations from the ground up.

  • Responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant to meet production goals and customer requirements. This position will be required to deliver a highly efficient production environment with a strong focus on operational excellence, financial oversight, product innovation, and quality management.
  • Coordination of all operations within the plant, including but not limited to managing the activities of a Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Team Leads, Departments, and floor staff to ensure products are manufactured in a timely, cost-effective manner without compromising quality.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Company performance, capabilities and product offerings; support implementation of new technologies and processes that enhance product capabilities.
  • Maintain product quality by setting standards and planning, implementing, evaluating, and improving production processes; identify and solve department problems that cause poor quality in conjunction with Production Supervisors and Team Leads.
  • Play an instrumental role in health and safety compliance by enforcing safety regulations and standards; conduct accident / incident investigations implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and optimize resource utilization, including capital improvement projects.
  • Analyze financial performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary; monitor and control operational costs to meet profitability targets.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team while fostering a positive, collaborative and productive workforce; enable effective communication across all levels of the organization to promote a culture of accountability.
  • Develop and monitor departmental goals and objectives through key performance indicators (KPIs); ensure effective performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage staffing levels, training and performance reviews to build operational capacity and drive operational excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned, designate or as the situation dictates.

Required Qualifications :

  • Growth minded, outside-the-box sales leader who is always curious.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Black / Green Belt required
  • An entrepreneurial, collaborative player-coach with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, successfully leading groups of approximately 20-50 employees
  • Experience in the print industry with a strong understanding of print quality and the print production process considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of financial planning, specifically budgeting, data analysis, and capital equipment analysis
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Business Suite, and ERP environments
  • A strategic visionary with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead workers; possesses strong mentoring skills;
  • A highly effective communicator with strong oral, written, and verbal communication skills
  • This position requires international travel (USA and Europe); must be a holder of a valid passport.
