Job description

We are looking for a General Manager to lead our team of sales associates and instructors at our boutique Pilates studio in Leslieville. A proven sales track record, and people management experience are a must, as well as a passion for member / community relationship building. The studio is aiming to continue to grow our group class memberships, and private training as well as foster a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all our members and prospective members. Pilates / Fitness experience is preferred but not mandatory.

The General Manager’s main responsibilities include :

  • Consistently achieves revenue goals.
  • Team builder. Motivates the team to offer incredible classes and top-notch customer service
  • Takes ownership in-studio, taking pride in studio cleanliness and developing staff as necessary.
  • The studio is an inclusive space, for every BODY to enhance their wellness goals. Ensuring this culture is fostered, is at the centre of all the General Manager does.
  • Works with the District Manager and Owner to ensure studio functionality

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Lead generation including Grassroots Marketing and Networking
  • Manage sales team to achieve individual, as well as studio sales goals
  • Membership Retention and Analysis
  • Manage staff schedule, Sales Team and Instructors
  • Hire Instructors and Sales Staff as needed
  • Provide regular coaching to staff
  • Independently make decisions related to high level customer service
  • Enforce Club Pilates policies and procedures
  • Strategically manage marketing campaigns to generate leads for the studio
  • Manage all socials media accounts, creating content and answering all communications
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years of retail / service sales or fitness sales management experience
  • Confident in generating personal sales and training Sales Reps in sales
  • Ability to manage and drive all revenue streams including : membership sales, retail, and private training
  • Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone and via email
  • Ability to excel in a fast changing, diverse environment
  • Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgment
  • An affinity and passion for fitness
  • Solid writing and grammar skills
  • Highly organized, proficient in data management, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Professional, punctual, reliable and neat
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Trustworthy and ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public
  • Proficiency with computers and Studio software
  • Location & Employment Arrangements

  • Four days a week at the studio; one day a week at home
  • 37.5 hours / week, with a variable shift schedule
  • Base salary, plus monthly bonus (based on number of members and monthly membership draft)
