Wiimamaandaawinam Prosperity Incorporated (WPI) is an investment corporation owned by Lac Seul First Nation. We exist to leverage our financial resources and build an economic legacy for future generations. Our mandate is to sustain a portfolio of profitable investments within our region. These investments will provide new opportunities for both our members and neighbours.

Description :

WPI is seeking a senior executive to manage investment opportunities, provide project management on key investment projects and monitor current projects. This position will report to the President and Board of Directors. This leader will assist with analysis, negotiation, and finalization of investment deals. The General Manager must have excellent communication skills and proven experience in project management, First Nation business development, and business analysis.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operational Management : Overseeing day-to-day operations, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Proponent Relations : Identify and solicit proposals, filter proposals for eligibility, gather supporting information for proposals, managing interactions with proponents.
  • Evaluation and Analysis : Provide summary evaluation and analysis for the Board's deliberations, coordination of external contractors providing valuation and analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Track existing investments : attend meetings, solicit information, report to Board
  • Financial Management : Managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring profitability.
  • Drafting Correspondence and Agreements for the President and Board of Directors.
  • Leadership and Team Management : Hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating employees, as well as fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strategic Planning : Working with the President and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Reporting to Shareholders and Band Membership : including regular updates to Chief and Council
  • Performance Evaluation : Monitoring and evaluating performance against established metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Compliance : Ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
