Job description

Develop and lead strategic and operational plans to drive growth, measured against key performance indicators (KPIs).

Manage budgets and forecasts to ensure financial targets are met.

Inspire, coach, and empower a solutions-oriented team focused on continuous improvement.

Act as an active member of the Golden and Kootenay community, representing the attraction on boards and supporting local initiatives.

Partner with People & Culture to foster a highly engaged team, achieve staffing goals, and promote retention and internal talent development.

Establish clear goals and expectations, ensuring accountability across all departments.

Conduct regular inspections of facilities, guest experiences, and employee engagement, leading continuous enhancements.

Collaborate with sales, marketing, and revenue management teams to optimize business growth.

Expand off-peak business through innovative programming, enhanced guest experiences, and diverse F&B opportunities.

Oversee capital projects, ensuring timely and on-budget completion.

Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety, customer service, and emergency protocols.

Address and resolve guest and employee feedback effectively.

Requirements

Proven General Manager experience in attractions, tourism, or hospitality, with a focus on developing teams and delivering world-class guest experiences.

10+ years of senior leadership experience in the tourism or hospitality industries.

Expertise in operational excellence, training, colleague development, and guest experience transformation.

Experience building diverse, engaged teams, including seasonal staff from varied cultural backgrounds.

Broad operational knowledge, including food and beverage, retail, programming/events, maintenance, and capital deployment.

Proficiency in operational technologies such as POS systems, ticketing platforms, and revenue management tools.

Strong budget management skills, including annual budgets, P&L statements, and capital budgets.

Analytical skills to interpret guest and employee feedback and create actionable improvements.
