Job Summary:

Manages and directs the operation of the airline catering unit or “flight kitchen” with gross revenues of $20M to $65M+ and a staff of 175 to 600+ employees.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Leads and manages exempt staff across all departments in the Airline Catering unit, including Food Production, Transportation, Equipment Processing, Storeroom, Dish-room/Porters, Quality Assurance, ensuring standards and customer service requirements are met.
  2. Ensures compliance with customer specifications and service requirements across all airline accounts, including production processing, on-time performance, equipment inventory, and quality assurance.
  3. Drives achievement of business objectives related to food costs, labor costs, sanitation, quality, market tracking, and airline goals.
  4. Maintains high standards for HACCP, FDA, local airport, Quality Assurance, and Airline specifications.
  5. Monitors menu cycles to ensure uninterrupted customer service and satisfaction; oversees equipment maintenance for operational excellence.
  6. Manages daily operational staff to exceed set targets.
  7. Supports Lean, Quality initiatives, and achieves OPEX targets.
  8. Ensures training programs are conducted to comply with policies and procedures.
  9. Monitors employee relations and compliance with labor agreements.
  10. Supports customer and government audits for compliance.
  11. Conducts annual performance evaluations of direct reports.
  12. Maintains communication with airline representatives to address requests and investigations.
  13. Assists the Regional GM with projects, investigations, training, and airline requests.
  14. Prepares accurate and timely administrative reports.
  15. Ensures facility security and compliance with TSA, airport, and corporate requirements.
  16. Focuses on defect prevention and nonconformity prevention.
  17. Maintains customer compliance resolution processes.
  18. Manages key performance metrics for the operation.
  19. Verifies adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality specifications.
  20. Develops Standard Operating Procedures.
  21. Ensures safety, quality, and customer specifications are met.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.

Work Experience:
  • Proven managerial experience in airline catering or food manufacturing.
  • 10+ years in in-flight catering or food manufacturing environment.
  • Financial management experience with budget responsibility.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).
  • Experience managing teams of supervisors and managers.
  • Customer service and account management experience.
  • Innovation and operational improvement experience.
  • Labor relations experience.
Job Skills:
  • Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to manage operations in a regulated environment (FDA, HACCP, security).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

• Favorise la prévention des défauts et la conformité.

• Maintient les indicateurs de performance clés.

• Vérifie la conformité aux politiques et la qualité des produits/services.

• Développe des procédures opérationnelles standard.

• Priorise la sécurité, la qualité, et la satisfaction client.
