About the Job:

Position: General Maintenance Engineer

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Starting wage is CA$22.50 during probation, increasing to CA$28.13 after probation, and further to CA$28.88 after 6 months.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of general maintenance experience in a hotel or related industry.
• Post-secondary technical degree or related certification.
• Advantageous to have a 4th Class or higher Operating Engineers License.
• Effective communication skills with guests, employees, and management.
• Strong organizational, computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Daily Tasks:

• Repair electrical equipment in the kitchen and guest rooms, including appliances and fixtures.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repairs across trades.
• Install new electrical equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Perform carpentry, painting, drywall, and flooring repairs.
• Build and repair furniture and fixtures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
