We are currently seeking a General Machinist to join our growing manufacturing facility in Cambridge.
Role: General Machinist
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm
Location: Cambridge
Note: Candidates must have prior experience machining weldments on a mill, specifically horizontal boring mills, to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and service equipment via preventive maintenance and repairs
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and operational issues
- Manufacture, modify, and repair tools, jigs, and fixtures per specifications
- Set up and load raw materials or die sections in machines
- Operate and program CNC machines using CAD/CAM data (primarily Mastercam)
- Collaborate with CAD specialists and Toolmakers to refurbish or improve tooling
- Use various tools and equipment, including grinders, welding, machining, and overhead cranes
- Maintain high attention to detail and quality standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience with medium to large horizontal machining centers and boring mills
- Minimum 5 years' experience machining large castings and weldments
- Ability to read and edit G & M code
- Experience selecting and building tooling
- Knowledge of materials, tool speeds, and feeds
- Experience with inspection tools and Renishaw probing
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls
- Experience rigging and loading large parts (up to 15,000 lbs) with overhead cranes
- Understanding of welding and fabrication processes
- Ability to train and mentor other machinists/operators
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for machine issues
