Job summary

EIC Shared Services, a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation, seeks a General Ledger Accountant to support month-end close and financial statement preparation. The role involves balance sheet reconciliations, revenue and expense accruals, and collaboration with AP/AR teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in general ledger, strong Excel and MS Office skills, and experience with full-cycle accounting and SOP development. Hybrid options may apply depending on team needs.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in the CPA program at an intermediate level is an asset.
• Experience with fixed asset, inventory accounting, and Great Plains Accounting system is an asset.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Ledger Accountant.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with full cycle accounting, up to and including balance sheet and income statement reviews.
• Demonstrated success in meeting tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability in identifying and implementing continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability of critical thinking skills when analyzing financial data.

Responsibilities

• Daily/monthly banking functions.
• Assistance in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly/year-end financial statements, including balance sheet reconciliations, revenue reconciliations, and expense reconciliations.
• Assisting with auditor information requests for annual, internal, and external audits.
• Batch review of payable/receivable transactions.
• Liaise with and provide support to accounts payable/accounts receivable teams as required.
• Provide information support and data analysis as requested by Financial and Departmental Management.
• Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Other duties as assigned.

Role Description

The General Ledger Accountant position is a key support to the Financial Management team, ensuring that delegated month and year end accounting functions are completed accurately and within established timelines. The incumbent also performs the day-to-day accounting functions as delegated.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Daily/monthly banking functions
• Assistance in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly/year-end financial statements,including but not limited to:
  • oBalance sheet reconciliations including all standard entries
  • oRevenue reconciliations including maintenance/reconciliation of revenue accruals
  • oExpense reconciliations including maintenance/reconciliation of expense accruals
• Assisting with auditor information requests with annual, internal, and external audits
• Batch review of payable/receivable transactions
• Liaise with and provide support to accounts payable/accounts receivable teams as required
• Provide information support and data analysis as requested by Financial and DepartmentalManagement
• Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Other duties as assigned

Hours of work:

• Full Time - Monday to Friday
• Overtime may be required to meet operational timelines for month end, year end and various projects

Qualifications:
