The general labourer is responsible for day-to-day operations related to waste receiving, handling, processing, and disposal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive all client waste, including bulk liquids/solids and containerized waste.
  • Take samples from waste vehicles and containers for lab analysis.
  • Load and unload waste vehicles, including vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks, and trailers.
  • Operate plant machinery and assist with general maintenance.
  • Assist in waste treatment and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Help prepare shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport.
  • Understand and follow the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Report any defects, damages, spills, or incidents to the Shift Supervisor/Manager.
  • Document work completion and ensure safety and hygiene practices are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Evening shift (4 pm - 12:30 am)
  • Experience in hazardous and non-hazardous waste management is an asset.
  • Experience operating air diaphragm pumps and bulk liquid transfer systems is an asset.
  • Propane forklift certification is an asset.
  • Motivated, able to multitask, and work effectively in a team.
  • Safety conscious and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working outdoors.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid G license with a good driver abstract.
  • Must be clean shaven to wear a mask.
