Responsibilities

As a general labourer, you will:

• Assist with general yard cleanup and maintenance
• Assist with cleaning of equipment, cutting steel banding for package securement, monitoring disposal of items, and railcar securement
• Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

You Possess

• Previous general labourer experience is an asset
• Forklift operation is an asset
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job (standing for periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting 50 lbs., etc.)
• Ability to work at heights
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
• A positive team attitude
• A strong safety mindset
• Solid interpersonal skills that allow effective work in a diverse environment
