A Day in the Life of a General Labourer

You start your day with a strong cup of coffee, a solid stretch, and your steel-toes laced up tight. You arrive at the job site ready to make a difference-and maybe crack a few good-natured jokes along the way.

First things first: safety gear on, game face ready. You're leading by example, following all health and safety policies like a pro. Whether you're working with the Lead Carpenter on a rebuild or supporting the Lead Water Technician after a flood, you're soaking in knowledge and asking smart questions-this is your classroom, and you're learning on the go. Throughout the day, you might be: Carrying materials, Climbing ladders to help tarp a roof or inspect an attic, Rocking a respirator while working in tight crawlspaces, Keeping things clean and clutter-free like a true team player.

You treat the customer's home like your own-respectful, polite, and always professional. If they have a question? You know who to direct them to. If a co-worker needs a hand? You're already there.

You wrap up the day tired but proud-another family closer to having their home back, another skill added to your toolkit. Sometimes, you're on call for emergencies. And when the phone rings at 2am, you're ready-because you know the work you do matters.

Qualifications
