Key Responsibilities
- Assist with moulding and casting operations, preparing moulds and supporting the production of metal castings.
- Pour molten metal into moulds following established procedures and safety requirements.
- Remove, handle, and transport completed castings and components from production areas.
- Operate metal-cutting bandsaws to cut castings, runners, risers, and other materials to specified sizes.
- Perform casting cleanup and finishing, including removing excess metal, flash, gates, runners, and risers.
- Use hand tools, grinders, and power tools to grind, deburr, smooth, and finish cast metal parts.
- Clean and reset workstations and equipment between production runs to maintain an efficient and safe work environment.
- Load and unload raw materials, castings, components, and finished products using appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Inspect parts for visible defects, damage, or quality issues and separate non-conforming products.
- Sort, count, label, and pack finished castings according to customer and production requirements.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, PPE requirements, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Assist machine operators, moulders, and other production employees as required.
- Perform other general labour and production duties as assigned.

- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull materials and castings.
- Work around heat, noise, dust, metal particles, and equipment.
- Safely wear required PPE, including safety footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and heat‑resistant protective equipment as required.
