Job summary

PentaCast Inc in Strathroy, Ontario is seeking a General Labourer/Apprenticeship to support moulding, casting, and finishing of metal parts. You will work in-person in a foundry environment and assist machine operators and moulders across multiple production tasks.

The role requires physical work, the ability to lift and stand for long periods, and adherence to safety PPE and production routines. Training and apprenticeship opportunities are available in a hands-on setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with moulding and casting operations, preparing moulds and supporting the production of metal castings.
• Pour molten metal into moulds following established procedures and safety requirements.
• Remove, handle, and transport completed castings and components from production areas.
• Operate metal-cutting bandsaws to cut castings, runners, risers, and other materials to specified sizes.
• Perform casting cleanup and finishing, including removing excess metal, flash, gates, runners, and risers.
• Use hand tools, grinders, and power tools to grind, deburr, smooth, and finish cast metal parts.
• Clean and reset workstations and equipment between production runs to maintain an efficient and safe work environment.
• Load and unload raw materials, castings, components, and finished products using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Inspect parts for visible defects, damage, or quality issues and separate non-conforming products.
• Sort, count, label, and pack finished castings according to customer and production requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, PPE requirements, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist machine operators, moulders, and other production employees as required.
• Perform other general labour and production duties as assigned.
