Currently, we are seeking a General Labourer to join the team at our Wheelshop in Hamilton, Ontario, performing the loading, unloading, movement, and organization of materials.

Position: General Labourer

Employment Status: Permanent, Fulltime

Schedule: Shift work, overtime, and weekends as required.

Start Date: Immediately

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Load, unload and move materials from different types of equipment such as flatbed trailers, box trailers, containers, box rail cars, and center beam rail cars.
  2. Sort, crate and stack materials.
  3. Assist and coordinate with machine operators and other shop floor processes.
  4. Communicate with inbound truck drivers, obtaining paperwork and verifying material quantities.
  5. Communicate with outbound truck drivers, verifying bills of lading to carriers and signing paperwork on departure.
  6. Adhere to and promote safety protocols.

Education And Experience:
  1. High-school Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. 1-2 years experience safely acting as a general labourer.
  3. A moderate comfort level with computers and role-associated technology.
  4. Forklift Operator certificate a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
  2. Ability to perform physical activities that require full body mobility, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and standing for an extended period.
  3. Ability to lift 50 lb in a safe manner.
  4. Occasionally work outdoors in adverse conditions.
