Job summary

UnitiWall Corporation in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for full-time, day shift. You will precisely assemble panels and components according to fabrication drawings, maintaining tight tolerances and contributing to high-quality products.

You will follow safety procedures, participate in QA/QC processes, operate equipment after training, and take part in training programs through the UBCJA union, with opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes with ability to learn quickly.
  • Certifications such as Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, and Crane operation are assets.
  • 1-2 years in material handling or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience with power tools (drills, saws, grinders) required.
  • Manufacturing background and strong acumen encouraged.
  • Physically fit and able to operate machinery safely.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings with tolerance understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Precisely assemble panels and components per fabrication drawings.
  • Maintain tight tolerances to meet quality standards.
  • Monitor work quality and report issues per QAQC manual.
  • Participate in QA processes to uphold product standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and complete startup checklists daily.
  • Keep work area clean and organized for safe operations.

What are we offering you

Work Hours:
  • 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
What you’ll be doing
  • Precisely assemble panels and components in accordance with fabrication drawings, contributing to the exceptional quality of our manufactured products.
  • Maintain consistently tight tolerances during assembly work to ensure each piece meets our rigorous quality standards.
Quality Control Contribution
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in monitoring work quality, promptly reporting any issues to management following the guidelines outlined in our QAQC manual.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance processes to uphold product standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
Safety Protocol Adherence
  • Proactively engage in daily safety procedures to ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety guidelines, promptly halting and rectifying any unsafe practices.
  • Complete daily startup checklists to verify the presence of all equipment and safety measures before commencing work.
Maintenance and Cleanliness
  • Vigilantly maintain cleanliness in the work area to promote a safe and efficient environment for operations.
  • Adhere to routine maintenance schedules and contribute to keeping the manufacturing area organized and free of hazards.
Operational Proficiency
  • After receiving thorough training, proficiently operate a variety of machines and tools essential for our production processes.
  • Load and transport materials as necessary to support the smooth flow of operations across the manufacturing floor.
Training and Development
  • Engage in ongoing training activities to enhance skill levels and deepen understanding of complex fabrication drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient installation of various building components, such as insulation, windows, cladding, and gaskets, following precise guidelines.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Skills, Qualifications and Track Record
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Valid certifications such as Forklift Operation, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Working at Heights, and Gantry/Overhead Crane Operation are considered strong assets.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a material handling or industrial environment, particularly operating equipment such as forklifts and gantry/overhead cranes are considered a strong asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of using power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders is required
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry with strong manufacturing acumen.
  • Physically fit and able to safely perform tasks and operate machinery.
  • Safety-conscious with a consistent focus on workplace safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address quality issues.
  • Proficient in cutting, shaping, and assembling steel/metal components, including surface preparation (e.g., grinding, deburring, cleaning metals).
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, including a solid understanding of tolerances and dimensions.
  • Adaptable and quick to adjust to changing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Skill advancement and cross-training in different manufacturing areas.
  • Development and Training Opportunities through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA) union.
