Job summary

Sulzer in Edmonton, AB, is seeking a General Labourer for the Services division. You will be involved in sandblasting, cleaning, painting, and prep for shipment, working with a range of hand and power tools, and supporting our shop operations.

Based at our Edmonton Service Center, the role emphasizes safe work practices, teamwork, and reliability. You will operate a forklift and overhead crane as needed, maintain areas, and contribute to timely delivery of parts and repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience in sandblasting and general labour.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Comfort with transporting parts between departments.
• Must be a team player and able to follow safety rules.

Join our team within the Services division in Canada as a General Labourer to help us take Sulzer to the next level. Grinder / General Labourer We have an immediate opening for an experienced and responsible candidate at our Edmonton Service Center. As a general shop technician, the focus areas for this role will be in Sandblasting and General Labour.

In this role you will be accountable for:

• Performing cleaning and grit blasting machine components as required
• Ability and knowledge of working with a variety of hand and power tools an asset
• Parts/components transport between the departments
• Painting and preparing parts for shipment
• Be competent in overhead crane and forklift operation
• Report-in to work area on time to receive assignment
• Have proper personal tooling as required
• Return tooling to proper locations; Report any misuse of equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and direction, and take appropriate initiative to participate in a team environment
• Maintaining work supplies and materials by reading work orders; locating and verifying items in inventory; loading items on trucks or pull-carts; moving items to site; unloading items
• Maintaining a clean and safe work site by: removing scrap; sweeping and mopping area; erecting barriers, following safety rules and procedures; wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Be self-motivated and willing to learn
• Observe all Company Safety policies and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Counterbalance Forklift certification an asset
• Ability to plan and complete tasks on time
• Familiar with basics of sandblasting
• Adept in the use of power tools
• Good computer skills
• Must be a team player

Location: We are based in Edmonton, AB.
