Job summary

CRH Canada in Milton is hiring a General Labour to support outdoor operations, keep the site clean, assist with maintenance, and operate crushing and screening equipment as trained. The job is permanent, full-time with rotating shifts and opportunities across our aggregates sites.

You will work in all weather, with reliable attendance, clear communication, and a willingness to learn core to keeping operations strong. Prior construction/mining experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or mining preferred but not required.
• Minimum Ontario high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment with other co-workers, supervisors and managers.
• Complete cleanup assignments using shovels and/or small, heavy equipment.
• Assist in maintenance inspections and activities using appropriate procedures.
• Operate crushing and screening plant as trained and directed.
• Report any malfunctions or safety risks to supervisor immediately.
• Specific job duties will often vary from day to day depending on business needs.

Position Summary

The Labourer supports safe and steady outdoor operations by helping keep the site clean, equipment running, and daily tasks moving. This role works hands‑on in all weather, taking on cleanup, assisting with maintenance, and operating crushing and screening equipment as trained. Work shifts and tasks change with business needs, and the job involves physical activity across the site. Reliability, clear communication, and a willingness to learn make this role an important part of keeping our operation strong.

Requirements

• Experience in construction, mining or operating heavy machinery is preferred but not required.
• Minimum Ontario high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
• Reliability – Showing up to work on time.
• Be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends when required.
• Physical ability to walk around the plant.
• Basic maintenance/mechanical aptitude, welding and fitting is preferred but not required.
• Dependability – follow instructions and respond to direction. Good communication skills are required.
• Working outdoors/indoors under varied temperatures and weather conditions.
