Opus dei crops in Howden, MB is seeking a General farm worker – harvesting to join a busy farming operation. You will hand-harvest vegetables, assist with crop care, operate basic farm equipment, and keep simple daily progress notes.

The position is permanent, full-time (35 hours/week) at 18 CAD per hour. Room and board are provided; candidates must lift up to 23 kg and be willing to work in remote locations.

• The candidate must harvest vegetables by hand.

• The candidate will be responsible for seed cutting.
• The candidate must be familiar with soil fertility programs.
• The candidate must perform vegetable culling.
• The candidate will be responsible for fertilising and spraying crops.

• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
• The candidate will be expected to inspect the product for quality and prepare it for market.
• The candidate will be required to write basic progress reports on a daily basis.
• The candidate will be responsible for installing and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.

• The candidate must load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
