Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Previous related pediatric experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PACS and RIS preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduation from a recognized school of Medical Imaging Technology.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employerpolicy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and relate well with patients and their families.
  • Must have a good command of English, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have knowledge of the emotional and psychosocial needs of children in hospitals and apply this knowledge toward alleviating the trauma of undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures for both the patient and family.
  • Must be able to promote a pediatric patient oriented and personalized environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion to all patients/family/support persons, and recognize and calm those with high degree of anxiety.
Physical Requirements
  • Stands and moves about during most of the working day.
  • Bends, reaches, and lifts and carries for short distances, materials or accessory equipment weighing up to 50 lbs..
  • At times may be required to push or pull heavy equipment.
  • Lifts and positions patients, some of whom are in a state of unconsciousness.
  • The incumbents are exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits) and to disagreeable elements such as contagious disease, anaesthetic gases, etc..
  • Exposed to extreme patient injuries.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
