POSITION SUMMARY

This position requires an experienced individual with a demonstrated ability to manage the maintenance of a wide variety of clinical diagnostic equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Troubleshoot repair and perform preventive maintenance on most types of clinical equipment

Construct and test devices required by hospital departments or research projects

Coordinate the duties at other Hospitals under contract to CHEO in Eastern Ontario with minimal supervision.

Coordinate the maintenance of clinical equipment for specific programs at CHEO

Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Criminal Record Check (Essential)

Minimum of one (1) year experience as Biomedical Engineering Technologist (Preferred)

Experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment (Preferred)

Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills (Essential)

Demonstrated strong organizational skills (Essential)

Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma or Biomedical Engineering Technologist Diploma (Essential)

Registration as an Engineering Technologist (CET) in Ontario with OACETT or Eligibility (Essential)

Certification as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist or eligibility (BMET) (Essential)

Strong knowledge of PCs hardware software & networks (Preferred)

Use of a personal vehicle and Ontario Drivers licence (Essential)

  • Please note you will be represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). Please note that this position will be based out of Ottawa. Please note that location may be subject to change at any time at the discretion of the employer. All OPSEU members shall be granted an interview upon passing the pre-screening. Pre-screening might include testing.
