Job description

Under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate, the General Duty MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI scans in accordance with established procedures within the MRI Department. The incumbent maintains a safe environment following professional and provincial guidelines, ensures compliance with quality assurance programs, and upholds standards set by Accreditation. All functions are conducted in alignment with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Experience
  • Previous related experience in MRI preferred.
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)
  • The incumbent must be a graduate of an approved MRI training program with successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) registration examinations.
Certification / Licensure / Registration
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with CAMRT, and registration within three months of hire.
  • Current BCLS certification within the past 12 months or BCLS Instructor Certificate.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated competency in manipulation and selection of MR images.
  • Excellent dexterity and ability to operate diagnostic instrumentation according to scope of practice.

  • Fluency in both French and English (written and oral) may be required.
