Job description

Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

Calian is seeking a General Dentist to add to our clinical team working at CFB Winnipeg, MB.

Our General Dentists deliver full-scope oral care—from exams and diagnosis to preventive and therapeutic treatments. Working independently within a collaborative clinic team, they handle everything from routine appointments to urgent walk-ins.

(The clinic hours are 7:30am – 4pm. Monday – Friday, no evenings or weekends. Dental services are provided to active military members. No seniors, no children )

Responsibilities
  • Assess the physical condition of the oral-facial complex
  • Diagnose, treat, and prevent disease, disorder, or dysfunction of the oral-facial complex.
  • Develop a care plan with the patient and the multi-disciplinary health care team to address patient’s oral health care and patient education on oral health hygiene practices, such as flossing and brushing
  • Provide therapeutic interventions consistent with established diagnosis, such as restorative treatment, minor oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, pharmacological intervention, and lifestyle changes
  • Provide administrative support such as but not limited to updating patient databases, referrals to other clinicians and maintaining patient records and documentation
Qualifications
  • A license from the provincial or territorial regulatory organization in the province of practice
  • Hold a Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C. Annual recertification is required.
  • Must have experience in using dental amalgam and experience in molar non-surgical endodontic therapy within the last year
Additional Requirements
  • You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
